COORPAROO

Located in Coorparoo, Brisbane, this architecturally designed three-level family home responds intelligently to challenging site conditions while maximising natural light, privacy, and liveability. Designed around a central courtyard and swimming pool, the ground floor creates a seamless connection between the common living areas and a private outdoor retreat, forming the heart of the home.

The central courtyard and pool draw abundant north-eastern light deep into the core of the house, enhancing the indoor–outdoor connection and ensuring the living spaces feel open, bright, and welcoming throughout the day. All bedrooms are thoughtfully positioned with a due-north orientation, allowing each private space to benefit from optimal solar access, warmth, and outlook.

A key element of the design is its simple, timeless form, paired with classic building materials such as weatherboards and face brickwork. By prioritising texture over colour, the material palette creates visual contrast while maintaining a clean, white base that will stand the test of time.

The home’s space planning has been carefully tailored to suit the evolving needs of a modern family, incorporating work-from-home spaces, private retreats, and generous open living areas. Strong connections to the outdoors and northern light ensure the home feels warm, functional, and inviting year-round.
